Where to start.
It took over 30days, two 10 hour plane rides, two half hour plane rides, dozens of trains, countless metro rides and bus rides, two six hour car rides,a hand full of taxi rides, a seven hour time difference, and three days of jet-lag, but Demand is finally taking a nap.
Totally worth it.
Saturday night around 7pm Mr. Sloth and I walked into our home after about six weeks and declared to ourselves, "We have a beautiful home".
That comment may lead you to believe we didn't have a great trip, but that's not true. We had a wonderful trip. We had a lot of fun, learned a lot and spent exactly enough time away. No matter how much I love to travel, home is home. It's always nice to get back into routines and after living 4 (sometimes 5) people to one room for six weeks a 1,500 square foot home doesn't look so bad.
And when the CLEANEST place your baby can crawl is the floor of a Paris Hotel room our living room carpet doesn't look too bad either.
I can bath my kids at night if I want to, as opposed to thinking up some contraption or device to bath them in a shower. I know where our next meal is coming from even if it is processed or deep fried. I don't have to have five people showered, dressed with bags packed and heading towards a metro before we eat breakfast or find coffee.
I don't have to pay to use a toilet or change a diaper. Although if "I" got paid to use the toilet or change a diaper I would be rather wealthy by now.
Again, I'm not complaining about our trip I've just increased my gratitude for the things of home be them fine or ordinary. Unfortunately that is where I leave you now. Wondering how our trip actually went. By and "Early-Thanksgiving Week Miracle" both children are sleeping so it is my once chance to get anything done around the house. I shall now gladly fold CLEAN laundry that hasn't been worn five days in a row and I will wash dishes that I cooked on and my family ate on.
God, Bless America and thank you for my home!
