I barely had enough sugar for my coffee this morning. I mean I was collecting bits of sugar from random places in my cupboard and pantry just to make a good cup of coffee. And as I sipped the loverly brew Mr. Sloth and I had the following conversation.
LW: God's grace is abundant, right?
MS: Yes.
LW: And endless?
MS: Yes
Good. I'm going to need that today.
So imagine yesterday, just add a sick Demand with a cold and diarrhea.
Yep. I tell you no lies.
Today I have tapped into that wonderful well of graces. As I type both children sleep. I have bathed them both at least once, steamed cleaned diarrhea out of Demands bedroom carpet, vacuumed upstairs, cleaned most of the house, ate lunch, showered AND DRIED MY HAIR. I have even taken a cat nap. I don't feel like the world is coming to an end, I haven't research putting children up for sale on Ebay and I haven't pondered as to whether or not Guardian Angels count as babysitters, and even when Mr. Sloth came home just as sick as the children instead of being my relief pitcher for an hour and informed me that in addition to him being sick our babysitter for tonight (so that we could finally celebrate our Anniversary) was also sick, I still didn't feel overwhelmed.
I can only assume it was either the fabulous cup of coffee or God's grace.
An hour from now both children will be up, I'll probably have bathed them both again and most likely one of them will be crying, and I'll be putting pizzas in the oven for dinner not getting ready to go on a long awaited date. But for now I sit in peace.
Maybe I'll lay down in peace.
