I've been MIA for about a week due to the new way of life around here. Happy has a much different approach to life than Demand did. Just as we suspected the day after learning to crawl he started pulling up on things. Now he's trying to cruise furniture.
Good grief.
He's not timid about anything and no creative re-arrangement of furniture will keep him from his objective. We remember how even after Demand learned to crawl she wouldn't enter the bathroom. Well Happy just lets himself and practically starts the bath himself. He's already tried to rewire the fireplace and ANY wire he sees becomes his first objective. (Sigh) Demand was not like this. He has another favorite item to seek and destory. Magazines. Specifically my IKEA magazine. Objective: eat magazine. I haven't been able to read it all week because of him. When he tried to grab it from me I put it on the couch, he practically laughed at me as he pulled himself up and tried to climb onto the couch using me as a step stool.
Demand is slowly becoming annoyed by him. She's learning anything in his reach is fair game and she was NOT happy when he tried to grab her Barbie. He adores her though. He's bored when she's not around and when she leaves the room he tries to follow her. It's so cute!
He's also very fond of the vacuum cleaner as many babies are. I borrowed Sidekicks Dyson the other day, it was the first time he was on the floor with the vacuum since he learned to crawl. Mr. Sloth was home and I told him, watch he's going to follow me. Sure enough starting it up didn't startle him a bit. He dropped what he was doing and followed the vacuum. Objective: crawl to vacuum, eat cord. I eventually had to put the vacuum on the porch so he would leave it alone. I'm sure Sidekick was disturbed to find his $300+ vacuum on the porch and the Sloths not home, but he was polite about it.
Consequently having two movers has made me exhausted. There are some days when I think I'd be ready to get pregnant again in a few months, but then I remember how tired I get when pregnant and I can't fathom how I could chase Happy around and function as a responsible adult. I'm barely passing now. With Demand I could just put on a TV show and she'd be fine, I could sleep on the couch until she brought me the remote to start another show, but Happy...lets not think about what he would do unsupervised.
Well it's a rare day when both kiddos are asleep and as it stands I'm sitting on the bedroom floor because Happy is asleep in our bed. He goes from waking to sitting and moving in less than a second so he can't be left alone. EVER. Good thing I have entertainment.

Aren't little boys fun??? Luke just figured out how to climb out of his crib this week, so this is our biggest dilema--keeping him in the crib! Max also was fond of the vacuum and cords (as I'm sure you remember). Wish I had some advice for you, but all you can do is remember to keep things out of reach! Good luck!
