I just want to start off by saying, if you are a sibling of Mr. Sloth and you do not live in the metro area...you should call him. Just trust me. (But don't call during a work day or he'll get frustrated.)
Life carries on here at the Sloth home. We're starting to get more of schedule now that things are settling down. I'm still alternating between a house that is trashed and one that is spotless so nothing has changed there. I have definately discovered that if I can have everyone's clothes picked out and ironed the night before it makes the whole next day go a heck of a lot smoother. Better yet, if I can get up, showered, dressed, and coffee-ed before I have to deal with the kiddos life is grand indeed.
Demand lives a rigorous life. The first time someone makes the "socialization" comment to me about homeschooling our children I shall laugh in their face. Demand has more social gatherings and a politician. She has at least one to two playdates a week. She has two short classes a week for religious education(since we're not homeschooling yet I'm not counting those). And in the next few months she must have at least 1-2 dozen field trips planned.
For example, here is her schedule two weeks from now.
Monday: Tour of the State Capitol (homeschool group)
Tuesday: Good Shepard (Preschool Catechesis)
Wednesday: Playdate while Mr. Sloth and I teach CCD
Thursday: Bible School while I'm in Bible Study
Friday: We almost always have a playdate on Fridays.
That's just one week. There have been countless other trips we've just had to pass on for now. There has been swimming once a month, nature trips once a month. In March we heading to the Planetarium. What's even better is we haven't done any of the "Winter Cabin-Fever" back up plans that we keep in our back pocket. We could always head to the Children Museum, the Zoo, Aquarium, the free zoo with indoor botanical gardens. And we can do most of this for free or at least discount.
It's a good thing homeschooling only takes about an hour a day because we won't have time for much more. I'm really looking forward to a Valentine's Ice Skating Party. There will be an exchange of Valentine's and everything. I was hoping to do something fun for her that day so this is exciting.
Anyway, out of time. Until we meet again.
