Ouch!

I realized today that we've had a few injuries around here recently.

First it was Demands door frame accident. If you recall she tripped on a toy (or her large feet) and smacked right into a door frame giving herself quite the injury for a few days.

Then two days I was innocently making lunch when I misjudged the firmness of refrigerator chicken. Next thing I knew our pricey knife had tried to make my finger a part of lunch. Our knives are so sharp that usually I don't feel pain when they cut me, but this HURT. I grabbed my finger right away and squeezed as hard as I could. I really thought it would need stitches and I had no desire to tell Mr. Sloth that he'd lose yet another day of work. I finally got the courage to wash the cut and quickly bandage it before I finished making the chicken salad. By the way the children were not sympathetic to my injury and just projected their needs on me the entire time. When Mr. Sloth came home for lunch I braved looking at the cut. It was bad but not fatal. It's actually healed pretty nicely over the past two days which is a miracle considering Happy desperately tries to grab at my band aid at any opportunity. Diapering has become quite the challenge.

Then, yesterday, Happy was gleefully playing with the remote controls while standing between the couch and trunk/coffee table. My back was turned (most likely I was on the internet) when I heard him fall over. Laying on his side and still holding both remotes he burst into tears. It's not like him to be easily injured but obviously seemed hurt. He screamed for a while before I finally noticed he had blood in his mouth. After trying to do a thorough search of his mouth which I failed at miserably, I gave him some ice and he was happy and the bleeding stopped. I decided later that one of the remotes hit the roof of his mouth, well I was wrong. Tonight while brushing his teeth, a pastime he finds hilarious, I found a tooth shaped cut on his tongue. Ouch! The poor guy bit his tongue so hard it bleed (a lot)!

Hopefully we are done with injuries around here for a while.
