The difference a day makes

Happy's vocabulary is growing rapidly. He officially says momma unfortunately its only said in a needy, whiny way so far. This morning I was woken up buy a pathetic sounding whimper coming from my closet. "Momma. Momma. Momma" Yesterday when met with a pool full of balls he pointed and excited declared "Ba! Ba!" He of course has already mastered the word more and hi, but today I breakfast I swear he said "nana" and there were fresh bananas on the counter, but Mr. Sloth thinks I'm just making it up.

All in all, yesterday was a good day. I took the kids to my bi-weekly lab appointment which can be a real drag in the cold but it went fine. Then we headed to Target so Demand could buy some Valentines for her party next week. At the Dollar Tree (which sells more than just $1 pregnancy tests, my personal favorite) I wanted to grab some party gear for Happy's birthday and I thought we could grab some decorations for Valentines and St. Patrick's Day. Plates, tablecloths, silverware, and plenty of decorations and we only spent $12. I truly love that store! I even let Demand get something and I NEVER let her get toys at the store. She wanted a little heart balloon on a stick, she was also really excited because for months I had promised her she could bring money from her piggy bank and buy an outfit for her doll. Her little doll wears blue and is named "Happy". However yesterday she picked out the exact same outfit only in pink and declared that "Happy" is now a girl. Interesting.

Happy napped really well yesterday and Demand was a great listener and had quiet time while Mommy napped. After nap time Demand had a playdate down the street. Of course it was 14 degrees and snowing all day so we had to get all bundled up to walk half a block. I was thrilled to have all the ingredients to make a meal (I'm getting pretty good at culinary improv)

After dinner I headed out to adoration and to get groceries. And yes I do need to pray before getting groceries. I don't know how much good it did though as I spent way more than I usually do. For starters I couldn't go to Aldi because they were closed so I had to go to SuperTarget and they already own my soul. There was just a lot of out of the ordinary stuff that made it into the cart. Happy desperately needed shoes and they've been hard to find. I'm also going through my " I don't feel very pretty" phase of pregnancy (which I think is more evidence that I'm having a girl) so I finally splurged and bought the curling iron I've been wanting for a year. I also bought a little make up. Being pregnant in the middle of winter is not good for the self esteem, especially when your belly is at the iffy stage where you can't tell if it's baby your seeing or just the result of recent food cravings. Which by the way my food cravings right now are fast food burgers and fries and Mr. Sloth judges me.

Today is a different day. The children were up by 6:30am. (Unacceptable!) I told Mr. Sloth that I blamed him because he was up by 6am and the children always smell productivity like it was fresh brewed coffee. We'll see how things play out.

Before I go I want to share a funny story about Demand. I mentioned before about her unfortunate run in with a door frame. She was really embarrassed and upset about how her face looked. We tried to tell people not to mention it but we knew there was little we could do at her cousins birthday party. About an hour after we arrived, her five year old cousin (standing 6 inches away from her) pointed and YELLED "BOO- BOO!!!!, and when no on understood him he yelled again this time adding "OUCH!". While I felt horrible for the mortified Demand it was kinda funny. Ten minutes later Demand and Mr. Sloth were in the kitchen and I heard her aunt say, "Whoa! I didn't see her face, what happened?!" What are you going to do? You can't protect them from everything. Her face looks really good today though, in case you are wondering.
