Mothers Day, I get fat, and Demand takes initiative.....

It has been brought to my attention that I have failed to blog in over a week (thank you "Nugget") So this might be a long post since so much has happened.

First order of business: Mother's Day

Saturday Mr. Sloth had Obscure take me with him shopping all afternoon. I thought it was funny since I KNEW Mr. Sloth had to get a Mother's Day gift. Nothing to be secretive about. Then Obscure and I stopped at Confession, afterwards I realized I was supposed to help sell crosages at the Church before and after the 5:15pm Mass. So I didn't get home until much later than planned and I was exhausted. I was home for only a few minutes when Mr. Sloth confessed and apologized for my Mother's Day gift. (He needs to work on his presentation) Turns out he wanted Demand to make me a cement hand print thingy and it wasn't working out. So I ended up helping make my own gift. A mother's work is never done.

My real gift was going to zoo on Sunday. It was my idea and I did the pre-work. I have a theory that the zoo is a perfect place to go on Mother's Day because it won't be busy with moms having the day off, but not too hot. (I have a tendency of going to the zoo on the hottest day of the year) So my morning started with me "sleeping in" but my new sleep schedule had me awake at 6:30am anyway. We barely made it to 8:30am Mass on time, and had a quick dougnut downstairs while Demand gleefully chased her friend around. We rushed home changed our clothes and headed to the zoo. I had gotten the free passes from the library earlier in the week so it was a fairly inexpensive trip.

It was a beautiful sunny day, a little cold, but much better than the last two years when we went on the hottest day of the year. Demand love the underwater aquarium and the ramp to the monorail. She also liked riding the "choo choo" (monorail) but not as much as the ramp TO the monorail. We left at 3pm and drove around for two hours so Demand could get some sort of nap before heading to Mr. Sloth's sisters house for dinner. We were all exhausted and it turned out to be a very short stay. Demand had a complete breakdown went she had to leave the "choo choos". (Her cousins mini Thomas the Train toys) Man that girl is into trains right now. So it was a good day, but exhausting.

Now onto other exciting adventures.

Mr. Sloth came home from his manly meeting at Church. (Once a month a few hundred men get together at our church to eat man food and debate.....whatever) He had "that look" on his face and asked me to pause the TV. The first words out of his mouth were "There was an auction...."

So, tonight Mr. Sloth and I have tickets right behind homeplate. I'm extremely delighted. In fact I told Mr. Sloth just to count this as my birthday activity. I'm going to eat soooo much tonight. I have big plans. Nachos with jalepenos (I only get jalepenos at baseball games), hotdog with onions and mustards. I may...even drink cheap beer, but chances are I'll load up on some delightful caffeinated and carbonated beverage. Mmmmm, I'm hungry just thinking about it. Mr. Sloth started to panic when he thought of all I wanted to eat not because of the price but because when I was seven months pregnant with Demand he spent the first four innings of the game going on food runs for me. I reassured him that I'm not quite as large this time and perfectly capable of doing my own food runs, although I will be needing his wallet.

One last funny story before I leave. I was doing my hair this morning and suddenly I noticed it was quiet. Yup, you parents know what I'm talking about.

I walked into our bedroom to find that Demand had dumped an entire glass of water on Mr. Sloth's side of the bed. So much that there was a puddle. A PUDDLE!! She also spilled some on the nightstand. What was funny was that she had grabbed a clean towel out of the laundry basket and was wiping it up. When I walked in she was saying "Clean, clean, clean". I had mixed feeling about the situation but overall I was proud that she took the initiative to clean what she had done.

Silence. You can't live with it, you can't live without it. Stay tuned for my "Battle of the Window Covering" story. Click picture below to see all of our pictures from the zoo.
